Brain
The brain, which forms the main shape of the logo, expresses the importance of neuroscience, mental processes and mental training in recovery. The brain is not just a centre that directs the body; it also plays an important part in how pain is perceived, in relearning movement, in motivation and in adapting to the recovery process.
That is why I see mental training and neuroplasticity, the brain’s capacity to change, as an inseparable part of physical recovery.
Spine
The spine at the centre of the brain symbolises the body’s main load-bearing axis, posture, movement, balance and the neural communication between brain and body. It is also inspired by the fact that osteopathy and chiropractic, the manual therapy methods I use, are built around the spine.
The three arms of the Y
Besides the two universities where I studied, the three arms of the “Y” in the logo represent three valued scientists who mentored me in my professional development, trained me, and in whose clinical studies I worked as an assistant:
- Prof. Dr. Nezih Hekim
- Prof. Dr. Kemal Nuri Özerkan
- Prof. Dr. Cihan Aksoy
Two Ys and the colour blend
The two “Y” shapes and the way their colours blend into each other express the philosophy of Yin–Yang: the complementary sides of Eastern and Western medicine.
The yellow tone: Healing is voltage
The yellow tone of the Y, reminiscent of electricity, refers to the body’s electrical and biological communication processes. It symbolises how acupuncture, electrotherapy and dry needling, among my treatments, act on the body’s electricity, which we also study scientifically, and a new scientific perspective that might one day reach as far as a Nobel Prize.
12 vertebrae and Lambda λ
The 12 vertebrae in the logo symbolise Lambda (λ), Book 12 of Aristotle’s Metaphysics. Turned upside down, the Lambda sign comes close to the “Y” shape and joins the logo’s other meanings.
